For paper and poster sessions, the Scientific Committee would like to primarily invite abstracts on models, projects, interventions or studies on the main conference issues and selected additional topics
Main conference issues:
•••• The need for action on chronic diseases
•••• Integrating treatment, care, prevention and health promotion for chronic diseases within hospital services in order to achieve an optimum outcome
•••• Integrating health care interventions on chronic diseases across levels of services
•••• Integrating action on wider determinants of chronic diseases across settings
Topics of HPH task forces:
•••• Health promoting psychiatric health care services
•••• Health promotion for children and adolescents in hospitals
•••• Migrant friendly and culturally competent hospitals
Additional topics:
•••• Health promotion for staff suffering from chronic diseases
•••• Mental health promotion in the health care system
•••• Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on HPH interventions
•••• Smoke-Free Hospitals
Criteria for the selection of contributions are their explicit link to conference topics, to principles of health promotion (described as being empowering, participatory, holistic, intersectoral, equitable, sustainable, and multi-strategic), to the availability of evaluation data / evidence, and to the explicit relation to HPH strategies and standards.
The program of the HPH conference 2006 relates especially to strategies PAT-1 ”health promoting living in the hospital for patients”, PAT-3 “supportive hospital setting for patients”, PAT-4 “health promoting disease management for patients”, PAT-5 “health promoting lifestyle development for patients”, PAT-6 and COM-6 “supportive community setting for patients / for the general population”, and COM-2 “coproduction with regional services”, as well as to standard 5 “continuity and cooperation”
